Racing

This weekend was all about the cars. Saturday night was the dirt oval in Ventura. Sunday was the dry lake bed at El Mirage. First pic was at Ventura and the rest at the lake bed.

Pretty much the weekend just made me want to sink a boat load of cash into a sprint car or narrow racer.

Realized that I hadn't stopped by to at least give the pictures of half dome a home. Voilà:

Other than that, started my new job today...seems like a pretty nice place.

Still going to try and make europe for the better part of a month at the end of this year, getting really excited!

stumbling

So after a bit of reading I decided to install the firefox tool bar 'stumble upon'. Uhmazing. Its like the coolest bits of the Internet I've never heard about have been put right at my ADD finger tips. In the first couple days of this I happen to stumble upon something that I would like to share with others (or no one, as i don't know who reads this): de-noted. I guess I've never encountered such art in my travels. Does give me a good idea for when I'm bored on trips though.

Fun in the sun

So last weekend I took surfing lessons. Hadn't ever been and figured it would be a nice time to learn. My friend came and hung out on the beach while I surfed and afterward we headed to the 3rd st promenade to get some lunch and generally just wander around and have fun.

We're walking along and stumble through an 'elect Barack Obama' section of people and here is how things went:
[cute liberal chick]: Do you have a minute to talk about how we can elect Barack Obama?
[Me]: Oh, I'm sorry, (with a finger I draw a heart on my chest) I heart Sarah Palin, she's cute.
[cute liberal chick]: awww... I'm sorry...ok, well have a nice day.

No real logic to talk me out of that, Sarah you fox.

Weekend fun

Was in Santa Barbara again this weekend to hang out with Angela. Sang karaoke for the first time, which was a blast, and got a couple of photos in.
